Twenty-five years ago I was diagnosed with advanced uterine cancer, and given only a few months to live. Feeling hopeless and without options, I agreed to a friend's suggestion that I see a "country healer." I returned home with a bag full of herbs, and followed the healer's advice with great skepticism. Within four days, six months of continual bleeding had stopped.

My skepticism was now replaced with a strong desire to learn all that I could about the power of herbs. I began reading everything I could find on the subject, and soon took charge of my own recovery. Within three months, I knew I was well, and saw another physician who confirmed that I was indeed cancer-free. It was at this moment that my life's work began.

I wanted to share what I had experienced with others. I sought the best teachers in herbal studies and in iridology (a way of determining the condition of the body through markers in the iris of the eye) to give me the training that I needed. Although iridology was a natural fit with the use of herbs, I noticed that the body response was often slow. A piece of the puzzle was missing.
